Embrasse is a simple, elegant, intimate, modern French Restaurant on Drummond St. Melbourne. Embrasse is also the french word for Embrace, and that’s exactly what we do with the philosophy of seasonality, purity and simplicity... To us this means a dedication to finding the best and freshest local ingredients from the farms, forests and oceans around Victoria (we even grow some unusual and heirloom herbs and vegetables ourselves). To you it means every time you visit us you experience the true essence of our land and local produce with modern French flair and technique. The menu is inspired by Chef Nicolas Poelaert’s memories of growing up in France and his experiences working under some of the world’s top Chefs including the 3 Michelin star Michael Bras. Epicure Magazine (The Age - March 09) put it well when they descibed the menu as somewhere between "posh and peasant." The extensive wine list featuring some european and local gems was designed by Sommelier Jason Tozer and organised by weight and taste to make matching wines more intuitive, a must with French cuisine.
